PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – Traffic is backed up along Interstate 75 southbound after a semi truck crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the truck lost control, hit a guardrail and crashed down a 30 foot embankment.

Troopers say the truck driver suffered a broken ankle.  He was removed to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Only one lane remains open while tow trucks work to move the truck.  Traffic is moving through, but very slowly.

The tow trucks are struggling to move the truck as it is very muddy.  One tow truck already got stuck in the mud.  Crews are also working to set up a new guardrail at the crash scene.
