XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) — Combined efforts for added St. Patrick’s Day patrols resulted in 15 OVI arrests in Greene County.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol worked together for extra patrols from March 13 to March 17. A grant provided the overtime dollars for the time of year so often connected to heavy drinking.

“Typically we see six to eight OVI arrests in a similar time frame,” Lt. Doug Eck said in a news release.

There were no deadly alcohol-related crashes in Greene County during St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
