Police ID woman killed in Trotwood shooting

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman who was shot early Tuesday morning died at the hospital, according to police.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 4900 block of Biddison Ave. just after 12:30 a.m.

Trotwood Police Capt. John Porter says several people were inside the apartment at the time. The gunman fired ten to fifteen shots inside.

The victim, who was lying on the couch, was the only one who was hit by the gunfire. She was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital at 1:30 a.m.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified her as Destiny Mills from Jackson Township.

Police brought in a K-9 to track the shooter, but came up empty.

Investigators believe the shooting may be related to an ongoing dispute.
