Kettering spring crime update

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Kettering Police Officer Ron Roberts says there are certain crimes that increase in the spring. One, being the theft of lawn care equipment. He says he’s seen tools stolen from vehicles and trailers within just a matter of minutes while the owner runs into a restaurant or convenience store. Also, he advises you take photos of the serial numbers on larger, more expensive items and store them somewhere safe. That way, if something is stolen and recovered you can prove it’s yours.

Officer Roberts also reminds kids and families to be extra aware of their surrounds when visiting parks, and reminds drivers to share the road with bicyclists. Hear more safety tips in the above interview.
