DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Meijer stores in the Miami Valley are getting a makeover.
The company says it will invest $50-million to remodel stores in Kettering, Miami Township, Englewood and Beavercreek.
Construction is set to begin this month and will be completed in phases so that the stores can remain open during construction.
Each store will get a new facade, remodeled gas stations and drive-thru pharmacies.
“We are pleased to reinforce our commitment to Dayton,” Meijer Co-Chairman Hank Meijer said. “Our customers expect high standards from us, and our investment in these stores will ensure they enjoy the best shopping experience we can provide.”
Most departments will be larger and carry expanded selections of items. The pharmacies will move to the front of the stores.
Checkout lines will be re-vamped and store aisles will be widened.
“Our goal is to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers,” Meager said. “Dayton is a community we’ve enjoyed serving for nearly 25 years since our first stores opened in 1991. We are pleased to renew our commitment to meeting the needs of families in the Dayton area.”
Construction is expected to be finished in late 2015.
