DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is looking to hire.
It is accepting applications now and is taking particular interest in attracting women to apply.
Troopers are planning a seminar for women interested in joining the force. It will be held April 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the state patrol academy in Columbus.
“Many women who would be fantastic candidates for the Patrol are turned off by the misconception that law enforcement isn’t a place for them,” said Lt. Amy Ivy. “At this seminar, we’ll show them that idea simply isn’t true.”
The minimum requirements to become a trooper are:
- United States citizen
- 20-34 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Ohio resident (upon graduation)
- Valid driver’s license
Visit the Ohio State Highway Patrol on line for more information. You can also register for the women’s seminar by calling 1-866-TROOPER.
