DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A local teenager is now formally charged in connection to a shooting outside the Dayton Mall.

A Montgomery County grand jury indicted Keyan Moore, 16, on involuntary manslaughter and robbery charges Thursday.

Moore was bound over to adult court to be tried in the case.

Prosecutors say Jawaad Jabbar, 16, was shot and killed by a store customer in December 2014 while he and Moore were trying to rob the man at gunpoint. They say the two were after a popular pair of gym shoes the customer just bought.

The store customer was cleared of any charges as he has a legal conceal carry permit for his weapon.

Moore is not in currently in custody, but his arraignment is set for April 16.
