Suspect warns gas station clerk in robbery

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A clerk said the man who robbed a Dayton gas station said he didn’t want to hurt her.

Police arrived at the Shell gas station located at 1415 South Smithville Road just before 7 a.m. Sunday.

The employee said a man walked into the store and said, “I don’t want to have to hurt you. Give me the money or I will shoot you. I don’t want to have to kill you.”

The cashier complied and opened the register. The clerk said she believed the suspect was carrying a gun but he didn’t show a weapon.

The suspect ran from the scene.

Police believe the suspect may be the same man who robbed the Sunoco at 912 Wayne Avenue.

Officers searched the area but didn’t find the suspect.
