Arrest made in connection to toddler death

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – Police say an arrest has been made in connection with the death of a toddler in Huber Heights.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office says the toddler who died Wednesday succumbed to blunt force trauma to the torso.

According to an autopsy, the baby’s death is being ruled as a homicide.  Investigators say Keyontae Ellis, 21 months, was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Police say they received a 911 call from an apartment on Fisher Drive in Huber Heights about an unresponsive baby.

They say Deonte Evans, 22, will be charged with murder, felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter, and child endangering.
