MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Dozens of hopefuls packed the Dayton Mall to audition for the second season of The Valley.

More than 70 folks with “something to prove” showed up for a dose of reality.

“Today I’m here auditioning for The Valley, and I’m really excited, and I hope I get picked to be on the show,” exclaimed Dayton native Teona Phillips.

Phillips was first in line and one of the many trying to impress the judges at Saturday’s Season Two Valley casting call.

The Valley is Dayton’s first and only locally produced reality series. The theme of the show is “everyone has something to prove”.

“It’s awesome because here in Dayton, we are the place for new innovation things like that,” said Phillips.

Woody Hieb from Kettering was also auditioning.

“I’m a little nervous. I’m also really excited. I think my excitement is more than my nervousness,” stated Hieb.

Some familiar faces also showed up for casting. The cast of Season One turned out to take pictures with hopefuls and offer advice.

Hieb said while he would like to be chosen, the audition is all about the experience.

“Whatever happens I’m blessed to be here. I’m already having fun. So it was already worth coming out,” said Hieb.

The cast of the Valley should be announced in the coming weeks. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
