Woman arrested after false 911 calls

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A woman was arrested after reportedly making false calls to 911.

Police were called to the 2800 block of West Third Street Friday.

Officers caught up with Ashley Matthews, 26.

According to the police report, she told police she made two phone calls to 911, one saying that a house was on fire and the other saying her friend had been shot. Police asked why she made the calls and she told them she did it when she wasn’t getting her way.

When officers arrested her, they found she was carrying a crack pipe.

Matthews was arrested on charges of making false alarms, obstructing official business, advertising and possessing, and illegal use of food stamps. She was booked into jail.
