BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Investigators looking into a fatal fire in Beavercreek say the victim died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Beavercreek police say it also appears that Thomas Dixon, 53, doused his home on Patsie Drive with some type of accelerant and lit it before shooting himself.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal is conducting testing to confirm what type of accelerant was used in the Tuesday morning fire.

An official cause of death is pending, but investigators say there is no indication that Dixon died as a result of the fire or smoke.
