DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Just in time for spring cleaning, Chaminade-Julienne hosted a “Stuff the Truck” drive for Goodwill Easter Seals Saturday.
The drive was created by four CJ seniors as part of their Senior Capstone project. It was part of their effort to raise awareness about reuse and keeping landfills clean. The students were inspired by last year’s CJ e-cycling drive.
Saturday, folks were encouraged to donate old items for Goodwill stores in the Miami Valley instead of throwing them away.
People dropped off gently used clothing, household items, jewelry, shoes, accessories, furniture, toys, books, DVDs, CDs, computer accessories, electronic devices, and durable medical equipment. The drive was also accepting cars for Goodwill’s Auto Auction.
Students were at the drive to help unload donations and provide receipts for tax purposes.
Donations collected will go to Goodwill stores in the Dayton community and help people with disabilities and other needs achieve independence.
