CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) — Runners and walkers got the chance to be a superhero for a day on behalf of local children battling life-threatening diseases.
The inaugural Superhero Donut 5K and Kids Fun Run was held Saturday morning at Bill’s Donut Shop at 268 North Main Street in Centerville.
A Special Wish Foundation partnered with Bill’s Donut Shop to raise money for children in the Dayton region to receive their special wish.
Runners and walkers dressed in superhero costumes and Special Wish Families lined the course to cheer on the runners.
The run was followed by an awards celebration along with food, raffles, and a costume contest.
Bill’s Donut Shop, Dayton Children’s Hospital, and Primrose School in Centerville were proud sponsors of the race.
2 NEWS Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik was the emcee for the event.
