BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Protesters interrupted the Beavercreek City Council meeting Monday chanting a very direct message.

They said, “Justice for John Crawford. Did you hear what we said? Young John Crawford should not be dead.”

John Crawford is the man shot and killed by Beavercreek police inside the Walmart store on August 5, 2014.

Protests and demonstrations have happened on and off since.

The protesters started their rally outside the meeting, but later moved inside with a bull horn blazing.  They are demanding that a second grand jury meet to consider charges as the first declined to indict the two police officers involved.  Crawford had a toy gun in his hand when he was shot and killed.

Police escorted the protesters out of the meeting, but no arrests were made. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
