FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) – Tensions rose at a flag rally at Wright State University Students Tuesday afternoon.
The rally was planned after a man stood on the American Flag in protest last week.
In fact, 2 NEWS captured a photo Tuesday that shows several people standing on the American Flag at the rally. We’re told a veteran became upset and yelled at them, but another man quickly calmed the situation down.
Some of the protesters are from the group Black Lives Matter. We understand that the people celebrating the American Flag left the scene for a planned run showcasing the flag while the Black Lives Matter group stayed behind to protest.
The two sides met up again to end the rally. They exchanged flags in a peaceful exchange.
A group of Wright State University students sent this letter to the the University’s president, Dr. John Hopkins: WSU Students Request
