RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – Rattling a bag of food didn’t work. Shouting out “Here Kitty, Kitty Kitty” didn’t seem to work either.

Rescuers trying to get a cat off a utility pole in Riverside called in the big guns and got Little Kitty down.

The cat climbed up the pole Sunday morning along Spinning Road and has been there ever since.

The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center showed up, but it was Dayton, Power and Light who saved the day.

DP&L says the cat was up a very important pole.   It carries a three-phase transmission line and a rescue effort could risk an arc-flash.

The equipment does supply power to a large area of Riverside including traffic lights, businesses, homes and medical life support equipment.

Crews were able to coax the cat into a basket and lower her down to safety.
