Two arrested in MainSource Bank robbery attempt

CLAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Clayton Police have arrested two people in connection to a robbery and attempted robbery.

It happened Thursday at the MainSource Bank on North Main Street in Clayton.

22-year-old Vincent Wright and 19-year-old Lorenzo Coles are both in the Montgomery County Jail on pending charges of robbery.

Clayton Police Chief Matt Hamlin said charges of attempted robbery will be filed against the pair soon.

Wright admitted to committing the robbery at the MainSource Bank April 22 and also admitted to attempting to rob the same bank Thursday, Hamlin said.

Hamlin said Coles is suspected of participating in Thursday’s attempt but was not involved in the earlier robbery on April 22,

Police caught up with Wright and Coles on Thursday following the attempted robbery after officers spotted the vehicle leaving the bank,

Both men were arrested at the Clayton police station. They are due on court Monday.
