FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) – At its core a new agreement will allow the VA to send veterans to Wright Patterson Medical Center for inpatient or outpatient services.
This is a first of its kind model and if it works it could be rolled out nationwide. The goal is to give quality, effective and efficient health care and service to veterans and service members.
Back in July the Department of Defense asked Wright Patterson to fill more beds in its hospital. This would be a proper first step in that goal.
2 News reported in July that the Department took a big hit in its annual budget, however, the goal was to increase the occupancy rate of its medical center by up to 70 percent. Now the goal is to extend its resources to the maximum number of veterans who need it.
