One killed, multiple shot in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and multiple people injured.

Gunfire erupted near the intersection of Germantown Street and McArthur Avenue around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Officers said about 100 people were at a house party when the shooting happened.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Medics rushed a woman to the hospital after she had been shot. Police said five other victims showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Dwayne Curtis, 27, of Trotwood.

Officers said they found another person a block away who had been shot in the leg. Officials are looking into whether the victim’s injuries are related to the shooting at the party.

No word on what exactly led up to the shooting.
