Dayton celebrates bike share launch

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Link is ready to roll. That’s the name of Dayton’s new bike share program.

Starting Tuesday, residents and visitors will have access to 225 bikes at 24 stations around the city.

A launch celebration is planned for noon at Courthouse Square. In addition to the inaugural ride, there will be food trucks and giveaways.

Riders can pay by credit card each time they ride or buy a membership. Rates range from $5 for a 24-hour membership to $65 for an annual membership.

If you are paying per-ride, the first 30 minutes are free. It will cost you $2 for the next 30 minutes and $5 for each additional half-hour. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
