CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Mother Sarah Schrenk took to social media to thank police for a random act of kindness after her children lost a favored toy.
Schrenk says her three children lost their wooden wagon after it was stolen over the weekend and used as food for flames in a brush fire. After her children told her about the theft, she said she sought answers from local firefighters and police who were at the scene of the fire. They told her she was out of luck, the wagon burned to ash in the fire.
What happened next, Schrenk said inspired her. The following morning, Cheektowaga Police Officers who were on the scene of the fire pulled up to her house and dropped off a brand new wagon for Schrenk’s children to enjoy.
“With everything negative we have seen in the news recently, I just want it to be known, not all police officers are bad,” Schrenk said.
Schrenk said she wanted to thank Cheektowaga Police for going the extra mile and making her children happy following an unfortunate event.
