DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — There’s a new economic development director on the job in Dayton and he joined Five on 2 for an interview just after a month into the job.
Ford Weber says he’s eager to focus on customer service. His plan includes not just attracting new business but wants to make sure the city is retaining businesses as well.
Weber said his first impressions of Dayton is that the economy is doing very well given the great recession. He wants to use the quality of urban living and the area’s great educational institutions to help create business and jobs.
Most recently, Ford was President and Chief Executive Officer for the Lucas County Economic Development Corporation in Toledo, Ohio. During his tenure there, he developed a business outreach and assistance program, making over 600 business consultations as part of a $1 billion economic development pipeline.
