DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – 40 local organizations came together to walk for peace in Dayton.
For the 24th year, they walked across the Peace Bridge on third street. The theme for this year’s walk was “Lord hear our cries; we are one in spirit and action.” Organizers say this year’s march is especially timely.
“Right here in Dayton we’ve had a little bit of discord of course, with the Beavercreek shooting,” said Crystal Walker, the Executive Director of Greater Dayton Christian Connections. “So its really important to collaborate to figure out how we can keep as different organizations to bring peace to Dayton.”
Participants also joined a workshop to figure out ways to end issues like violence, poverty and environmental concerns.
