3 men attacked at sand volleyball club

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after two brothers and their step-dad were assaulted at a bar.

The incident happened at Setters Sand Volleyball Club located at 1008 Gateway Drive around 2 a.m. Sunday.

The victims told police they were at the bar celebrating a birthday.

One of the victims said when he was in the restroom, he made a homosexual comment to his friend, and another man heard him and punched him knocking him unconscious. The victim’s brother said he then walked toward the suspect, but the suspect also punched him and he was knocked unconscious. The step-dad told police when he heard the commotion, he rushed to his sons’ aide, and the suspect then punched him.

The other patrons in the bar intervened and the suspect left.

The victims were transported to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek for treatment.

Police said the two brothers had fractured jaws, which required surgery. The step-dad had a fractured bone in his face around his eye and also required surgery. All three victims were going to be transferred to Kettering Hospital for their surgeries.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
