DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police said someone fired shots into a Dayton home, and it’s not the first time.

Police were called to the 3900 block of Necco Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday.

The homeowner told police he was asleep in his bedroom when he thought he heard a knock at his front door. When he got up to check, he saw four bullet holes in his home.

He told police someone shot at his home about two months ago while he had family and friends over. He said during that incident, one of his friends was shot in the hip.

Police said they found shell casings in the street from Sunday’s shooting.

Officers believe the suspect fired a gun from a vehicle and then drove away.

Police are still investigating. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
