COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State University says more than 11,000 degrees are being distributed during commencement for the largest graduating class in its history.
Many of those graduates were expected to receive their degrees in person during Sunday’s spring commencement at Ohio Stadium, with a featured speech by football star and two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin.
The university says the previous record number of Ohio State graduates was 10,642 in 2012.
It also planned to award three honorary doctorates at commencement. Those honorees include Ohio native Kathleen Sebelius, the former Kansas governor who also served as U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary.
