DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Downtown Dayton Partnership is hosting a string of new events this summer. They will be calling the events Summer in the City, and they will replace the old urban nights.
The first of the new events, Art in the City, was held this past weekend. The organization partnered with groups like the Dayton Visual Arts Center and RiverScape to showcase downtown’s visual arts.
“Any time you do an event for the first time, its kind of hard to gauge how it will go,” said Emily Broughton, special events manager. “We’re very very pleased with the amount of people that came and I think next year we’ll look at new ways to highlight downtown and make it even larger and have more fun activities for people.”
The next of the events will be the Great Dayton Inventor’s Race. It will be the first Friday in June.
