Pedestrian killed was looking for cell phone

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Investigators say a woman was struck and killed by vehicle in Miami Township Tuesday night.

It happened just after 10:20 p.m. on Springboro Pike near Dahlia Drive.

OSP says Natasha Dawson, 30, and Eugene Colter, 35, were walking southbound in the street looking for a cell phone that had apparently been dropped out of a car window.

Dawson was hit as she was picking up the phone. The car was driven by Donald Oliver, 57, a pizza delivery driver.

Sgt. John C. Chesser with the Dayton Patrol Post said Dawson was wearing dark clothing.

Colter and Oliver were not hurt.
