DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Board of Revision began hearing from Montgomery County property owners appealing their property revaluations.
County Auditor Karl Keith says with so many applications, it will be tough to get them all completed by the end of the year.
He says plans are now being made to seat a second Board of Revision to deal with the high volume.
“The opportunity to appeal is part of the revaluation process,” said Keith. “This is a way for property owners to participate in the process and make their voices heard and we welcome their involvement.”
The second board should convene late this summer. Hearings are expected to continue through October.
Keith says the number of appeals did increase this year as a result of setting new property values, but it did not exceed a record year in 2008.
