DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – May is Better Hearing and Speech Month.

This year’s theme is Early Intervention Counts. That is why United Rehabilitation Services is offering free screenings.

Officials say it is a great way to find out if kids are hitting those important developmental milestones.

“Early interventions services between zero and three is so important because we can have a much greater impact on that disability and really see progress much more rapidly,” said Dennis Grant, Executive Director, URS.

According to URS, its Clinical Services Department has 10 licensed therapists and prides itself on being the Miami Valley’s leading provider of Specialized Therapy Services for Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies.

URS serves more than 1,000 patients each year.  URS has the region’s only Pediatric Aquatic Therapy Program.  The newest addition to the clinic is the Universal Exercise Unit “spider cage”.
