DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Gunfire leads to one man behind bars.

Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Richard Street before 1 a.m. Sunday on a shots fired complaint.

The homeowner told police he had been punched by another man who wanted to fight earlier in the evening in the area of Burkhart Avenue and South Jersey Street. The man said he walked away and returned home. He told police a short while later, a black Chevrolet S10 drove by his home with the people inside the vehicle yelling and waiving guns. The man said he then called his father to come over to the house with him. When his father arrived, the truck fired a shot at him. His father wasn’t hit by the bullet and immediately called 911.

Police found the truck driving on Hamilton Avenue and stopped the vehicle. Officers said there were three people inside and one in the truck bed. They stated they also found a gun belonging to one of the people.

Jesse Henry, 27, was arrested on charges of felonious assault, carrying concealed weapons, and discharging a firearm over a roadway.

The incident remains under investigation.
