Alcohol delivery service ready to serve you at home

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The run of craft beer bars and whiskey joints in the Miami Valley is getting some serious competition.

Now comes word of an alcohol delivery service. Drinkos.com will deliver liquor, beer and wine right to your door. No driving, no worries.

The service has been up and running in Cincinnati for nearly a year and has seen success.

Rachel Ennis, the vice president of marketing for Drinko’s said while you can get beer, pop, ice and even cigars delivered to your door, there are some beverages you shouldn’t expect.

“We follow the guidelines that the Ohio state board of liquor control gives us. There’s no compromise there at all. The liquors we do have will be 42-proof or under,” said Ennis.

Drinko’s doesn’t deliver everywhere in the Miami Valley. Only homes and businesses within a 20-mile radius of their warehouse in north Dayton will be served.

You visit the web site to place your order. You must register your ID at the time of purchase, then the delivery man will check it again at your door.

No cash? No problem. In fact, Drinko’s doesn’t even use it.

“Everything is online. Our drivers never hold cash,” said Ennis. “They will never accept cash and the majority of underage purchasing is through cash. If it’s done through credit card we can track the purchase one hundred percent back to who bought it.”

Service begins Thursday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m.
