KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – The City of Kettering is laying out a lot of cash to support the new cancer care center on the Kettering Health Network’s Kettering campus.
The city says it is an unprecedented economic development incentive worth up to $3.6 million when construction and payroll objectives are met.
“While this incentive exceeds any previous cash incentives for economic development offered by the City of Kettering, we are confident that we will see a significant return on our investment,” said City of Kettering Economic Development Manager Gregg Gorsuch. “More importantly our Kettering residents will have the highest standard of cancer care available close to home.”
The new $49-million cancer care center is now under construction. It expected to be complete in 2016.
Kettering Medical Center is the largest employer in Kettering. It is located on Southern Boulevard.
The city council is expected to approve the agreement at the May 26 meeting.
