SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Clark County firefighters, deputies, troopers and police officers gathered to remember first responders who died in the line of duty.
The Clark County Annual Memorial Service was held Friday afternoon at Limestone and Columbia streets in Springfield.
The sheriff says Memorial Day weekend is always an important time to remember anyone who’s died serving their community, but this year is especially timely.
“Law enforcement has had a very difficult year and we really appreciate the public supporting us and just like this, coming out on a Friday afternoon to just show their support, we appreciate that,” said Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly.
The service also acknowledges military personnel who gave their lives for our country.
