CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) — Members of the Centerville Noon Optimists Club took to the streets Saturday to decorate neighborhoods for the holiday weekend.

The group put out about 1,100 flags throughout Centerville and Washington Township.

Organizers said the display brings the community together.

“People really want to show the colors on the major holidays,” said club member Mike Bevis. “I think it really pulls the community together with more than a thousand flags, just as a patriotic thing.”

Organizers said the avenue of flags has been growing each year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
