Body identified after drowning at Caesar Creek

WAYNESVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) — First responders have confirmed a man has drowned at Caesar Creek.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 47 year old Robert Stegemoller of Maineville, Ohio.

Emergency crews were called one of the campgrounds after 4:30 p.m on Sunday.

Officials believe a man was trying to bring his boat back to the surface when he went missing in the lake.

“He went to get a boat, went in the water, his boat came loose from the island out there. Went to get his boat” said Matt Hannigan, Massie Township assistant fire chief.
