Fatal hit-and-run stalls traffic on I-75 in Moraine

MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash had traffic backed up into Dayton Sunday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the crash on northbound I-75 in Moraine just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

Moraine police say two cars, a truck and SUV, were travelling northbound in a type of road rage incident and throwing objects at each other.

Officials say the truck came to a sudden stop and lost control, hitting the SUV, causing it to flip over. The two people in that vehicle were ejected.

They say the driver of the truck then fled the area.

One of the people had died on the scene and the other was taken to the hospital. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

Crews are still investigating the incident.

Police are looking for a newer truck, possibly a Ford and red or orange in color with a quad-cab and chrome side-running boards. The driver is described to be a heavyset white male, possibly in his mid-60’s or 70’s with a full white beard and white hair.

Police ask if you have any information on the crash or the driver, you’re asked to call Moraine police.
