Police investigate after RTA bus shot

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after the windows on an RTA bus were damaged by gunfire.

A driver reported that two passenger side windows had been shot at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Edison Street.

No passengers were injured.

RTA said the estimated cost for repairs is $800 to $1,000 per window.

Officers observed shattered glass particles on the seats inside the bus. Police said they believe the windows could have been damaged by a BB gun.

There are no suspects at this time.

RTA said it’s working with the City of Dayton to come up with a solution to combat the criminal damaging of its buses.
