Cyclists pedal from Miamisburg to Franklin in River Ride

MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) — Bicyclists took advantage of the sunny weather Saturday morning for a River Ride.

The annual “Drive Less Live More River Ride” was held Saturday.

Cyclists hopped on their bikes at the Riverfront Park in Miamisburg and then headed south to Franklin. Along the trail, folks enjoyed the Great Miami River vistas, shady parks, and historic sites.

The River Ride was a family-friendly 14-mile round-trip. Those taking part were able to ride at their own pace.

The purpose was to highlight the communities along the river and to show people the convenience of bike paths.

The ride was free. Organizers gave out helmets to cyclists who needed them, and a bike shop was on hand to make minor repairs.

The ride is a yearly event held during the last weekend every May.
