Deputies investigate deadly Preble County crash

PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — Deputies are investigating a deadly crash in Preble County.

The crash happened on U.S. 40 at Monroe Central Road around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to deputies, Benjamin Gresham, 50, of Lewisburg, was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion when he lost control, went off the road, and flipped several times.

Gresham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several minutes prior to the crash, deputies believe Gresham rear-ended a vehicle in the 4000 block of U.S. 40 and left the scene.

Officials suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. Gresham was taken to the coroner’s office where an autopsy will be performed.
