CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say three people are dead and a fourth has been seriously injured in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide in Cleveland.
The shooting happened at 9:15 p.m. Sunday. Deputy Police Chief Ed Tomba says a 29-year-old man opened fire on a woman in her 60s in her backyard, grazing her head. He then went inside and fatally shot a woman who police say was his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend and her grandfather.
Tomba says the 29-year-old man then shot himself.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner on Monday identified the 24-year-old woman as Brittany Reid and her grandfather as 66-year-old Robert Clarke.
Police say the older woman is Reid’s grandmother. She was in serious condition after the shooting, but was able to speak with detectives at a hospital.
