SILVERCREEK TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – Troopers are investigating a fatal crash Tuesday in Greene County.

Crews were called to the 7200 block of Old US Route 35 just after 4:00 p.m.

Troopers say a car and a Jeep collided outside of Jamestown.

The Jeep was driving by James Smith, 49, who was northbound on Rosemoore Rd. He apparently failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by a car heading east on Old US Route 35.

Smith died at the scene. All four of his passengers were ejected.

Frank Martin was flown to Kettering Hospital by Med-Flight. Jonathan Cain, 28, Jacob Smith, 13, and April Bird, 33, were all taken to Greene Memorial Hospital.

Troopers say no one in the Jeep was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the other car, 23-year-old Tamara Marinelli and her passenger, 23-year-old Brandon Baker, were taken to Miami Valley Hospital of Jamestown.

Investigators do not know whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
