MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – A Chinese company purchased a Moraine manufacturer.

Sunsong Holdings is the new owner of Harco Manufacturing Group on Kettering Boulevard.

Interestingly enough, it is located near the Chinese-owned Fuyao plant set to open in June.

Harco makes brake hose assemblies for the automotive industry.  It employees about 100 people.

“Sunsong’s commitment to retain the jobs in Moraine for our employees was a must for this acquisition to occur,” said Larry Harris, Harco owner. “This merger should provide for global business growth and thus, ensure continued employment for those that have contributed to the success of Harco.”

Sunsong is China’s number one manufacturer of brake hose.

“The acquisition of Harco is an important step in the further global expansion of Sunsong. The similarities of the two companies and the value placed on employees, honesty, safety, and quality makes this a perfect fit,” said Wei Zengxiang, chairman of Qingdao Sunsong.

Harco’s acquisition comes on the heels of the Fuyao announcement to build a glass manufacturing plant at the old Moraine GM plant. Fuyao will employee as many as 1,500 people. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
