DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton pawn shop was robbed early Tuesday morning.

A manager at Gordons Jewelry and Loan told 2 NEWS that three suspects smashed the glass to the front door overnight stealing several items including firearms, watches and jewelry.

Once inside the pawn shop on east Third Street, the suspects broke several glass cases.

Each night, employees empty the cases and store the items elsewhere. That practice benefited the store Tuesday. The store’s manager said by doing so it prevents the theft of high price items.

The robbers did leave a mess inside due to all the shattered glass.

Fortunately, the pawn shop says they had connections with a glass company that came over to replace all the broken glass before noon Tuesday.

“They weren’t bashful about it at all,” said manager, Chris Bucher. “They almost looked like they were plotting it out behind the building and came around the front and made sure there wasn’t anything else going on the street and decided they wanted to come in bad enough and climbed right through the tiny gap in the door.”

The shop has several security cameras, and authorities are now looking for three male suspects.

Gordons Jewelry and Loans say they are offering a cash reward for anyone who has information that can lead to an arrest.

If you do have any tips, you’re asked to call Dayton police.
