Huber Heights home invader admits to crime

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Kettering man is prison bound for a home invasion back in November.

Matthew Short, 24, pleaded guilty Wednesday on aggravated robbery, kidnapping and felonious assault on a police officer.

Prosecutors say Short Stormed into a home in the 7600 block of Taylorsville Road in Huber Heights on November 23, 2014. They say he tied up an elderly man ordered two more people in the home into the basement.

The elderly man was able to dial 911 to report a burglary in progress.

Short then fired at Huber Heights police officer who arrived at the scene to investigate.

Short did get away, but turned himself in to police the next day.

He is scheduled for sentencing July 14.
