WINCHESTER, Indiana (WDTN) – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an inmate who ran away early Monday.

The Sheriff’s Office says Robert Dean Lewis, 26, was working as a trustee, cleaning the lobby of the jail around 3:20 a.m. When the jail officer went to gather the trash from the bathroom, Lewis ran out the front doors.

Surveillance video captured him heading south from the jail.

Lewis was wearing a yellow jail jumpsuit with “Trustee” on the back.

Lewis is from Greenville, Ohio. He is 5’6″ and weighs 185 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

He was incarcerated on October 15, 2014 for burglary and was awaiting sentencing.

Police believe he is traveling in a black 1990 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck is believed to have a gray stripe near the running boards with Indiana plate TK796MHQ.
