Retirement community honors veterans

MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – Sycamore Glen Retirement Community dedicated a new veteran honor wall Monday.

It is a tribute to the facility’s more than 30 World War II veterans.  Their photos and awards are on display throughout the lobby.

The director says it is the first time the organization has done something like this and they would like to do more in the future.

“All of our veterans here at our community are very special to us and we toured another community in the not so distant past and noted that they had a veterans wall in their community and it just gave us the idea that we really wanted to do something like that in our place as well,” said Michelle Brooke, Sycamore Glen Retirement Community.

The facility is open to the public.
