YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) – Four people were rescued after falling and becoming stuck at Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve Tuesday evening.

Dispatchers tell 2 NEWS they got the call around 7:30 p.m.  Officials say the group was trying to get to a creek to swim when a one of them fell down a 66 foot drop. Three others slid down the cliff to try to get to her.

That’s when firefighters were called in to help.

All have been pulled from the bottom of the cliff. It’s unclear the severity of the injury but officials say she is stable.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says the four are between the ages of 16 and 22.

Clifton Gorge sits just off Clifton Road and Wilberforce-Clifton Road just outside Yellow Springs, near the Village of Clifton.
