DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Smiley’s Golf Range was the hot spot in the Miami Valley for many years.

Putt-putt fans would line up to choose a colored ball of choice and take to the course with vigor. Golfers would line up at the tees and hit a few balls out into the range as far as they could.

For a while there, you could even step up and hit a few baseballs.

Those days are gone now and all that’s left is the land. Smiley’s is up for auction Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. to the highest bidder.

Smiley’s opened at 4740 Linden Avenue back in 1947. Tuesday’s auction is for the land.

An on line auction will follow the closing of the real estate purchase. That is when you might get your hands on some of those putt-putt balls and supplies.
